~ The lymphatic / immune system is a network of lymphatic vessels that carries lymph towards the heart. It's consisted of two types of immunity: innate & acquired.
~ Function: We need an immune system to protect our bodies and keep it healthy in a world as germ-filled as ours.
~ Examples Include (but are not limited to):
~ Skin: forms a nonspecific, physical barrier (preventing the entry of microorganisms)
~ Thyamus: a place for T-cells to mature & is slowly replaced by fatty tissue around puberty
~ Secretions: fluids that create hostile environments for microbes, & proteins such as lysosomes are secreted to destroy a bacteria's cell wall
